OT/Arik. Yuk it up, Chubakka.<g> All kidding aside,

only a modest collector.

But do have several really fine Caucasian pieces from the Sirvan district (loc. the valley between the 2 main Caucasian ranges) in southern Russia just west of the Caspian Sea.

Semi-antique Bijou is museum quality. A textile masterwork. Quite a story behind that one. But don't want to bore you stiff.

The ultimate irony is that most oriental rugs wolven by Islamic weavers are rife with early Christian symbolism.<g>

This controversial and fascinating research is presented by Volkmar Gantzhorn in his large hardcover:

Oriental Carpets, 1998 1st ed., pub by Taschen Verlag GmbH.

Unfortunately, not been to Germany yet. Understand some of their museums have fabulous collections.

Best museum collection I've seen in my travels is in the Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon, Portugal.
