China has NEVER had a tradition to interfere other country/nation's internal affair. China is and will be a force for peace in the region by NOT interfering other's business and NOT sending troops to other countries. And I think that is the biggest contribution for the peace in the Pacific region. China put the money where the mouth is. It is a HUGE challenge just to feed those 1.3 billion people.

and ONLY the Koreans themselves (North and South) can permanently solve Korean peninsula issues. Outside force never works!! period. and to start the process, I would advise the US troop withdraw from South Korea (but hey, who the hack am I?)

Contrary to popular opinion, the Chinese play Chess.
Currently we are the ones playing checkers, or dominoes.

Hello mike;

The Chinese should be pushing for collective security in the region imo.

No question about that. I'm sure we could locate a few seminal journal articles discussing this, unquestionably weighty, issue. We are basically talking about the nature of Chinese Foreign Policy and I doubt it is a monolithic entity, in fact, probably wheels within wheels within wheels -- tough enough even trying to discern the transubstantiations own policies seem to take. :o)
