I think Yiwu would make the case that they were reacting defensibility to a perceived move of the US to its borders. Given MacArthurs views they did have reason to be nervous.
Where chinese have intervened have been vietnam, tibet, and other border areas which they consider as their own territory. Even sino-soviet dispute largely over borders. But the chinese have not been players away from their borders. mike
