These guys in the press don't know anything about gold except that you supposedly buy it during a war. They have no clue about the fundamentals, well discussed on this thread, that are driving the price rise. Why would we value their opinions about a "war premium?" I personally can't envision the Chinese, Japanese, Indians, etc.., who are currently buying gold hand over fist, selling gold for dollars if we invade Iraq. If anything, an attack on Iraq should increase the demand for gold and add numerous other Islamic countries to the ranks of gold buyers and dollar dumpers.
