I wont buy that study of short selling right away without more support. A portion of those companies verified to have tried to prevent short selling would have done so because they were in desperate trouble. Having even one of ten go bankrupt would have dragged the average performance of the group down, as noted, when compared to other companies . Need a different approach to prove anything worthwhile. John: The truth is that corporations and middlemen hyped the stocks way beyond their ability to produce results. We have all become part of the ponzi scheme in the name of free markets. When you can make more money by trading in the market than by the ability of corporations to give you back reasonable returns from their profits, it is a ponzi scheme. Growth need to be built on value first. The biggest players in this ponzi scheme are the founding CEOs.
