Best of all, the 33rd USCT wore red trousers with their uniform--or lack of one.

That reminds me...how do you pronounce Zouave?

I've seen it written for years but never heard it said.

Here are some things I liked from the movie.

I also liked the scene where the 54th is doing manual labor and get in a shoving match with the reserves going in..."There's men DYIN' up that road." "Well just put the 54th in and they'll be nothing but rebs dying".

The captain (you'd think I'd know the screen names better, as many times as I've seen it) rides up and says he is preferring charges against the vet shoving Denzel, but Morgan Freeman as unofficial sergeant tells him," There's no need for that suh...just a soldiers' fight."

That line says so much about how Morgan saw himself and the men, before anyone else saw it.
