It held for so long due to the fat that the system has around its waist. It survives by burning this fat. One billion dollar every side of the Atlantic on agriculture subsidies. Yeah. there is still money for that. There is still taxes to be extorted from ordinary people to pay for new rockets to replace those being fired in caves somewhere in places people can't even locate on the map. If the body feels the fat is ending, they steal the little ration others have and build some fat reserve to keep living. Easy stuff Jay. very easy to understand.
