Whether and when China will have democratic election of the highest ranking official was not, has never been, and never will be an important factor for China's economic development. China is doing just fine as of now. I could not care less, and most of people in China could not care less. And after all, only 39% of the people in the US cared to come to the voting booth. I bet maybe even lower proportion of Chinese would do even when there is such an election. Again, go to China, and ask an average Wang on the street, and see whether he/she gives a "dime"<g>
