viral encephalitis.

Are you around New York area? I see they have an outbreak of it there. They call it "West Nile Like" and find it in Crows, and from Mosquitos. I guess it is normally a kids problem, not for "Old Farts" like your Dad and me.

I will be 68 this September, and spent two hours on the dance floor tonight with Reiko, a lady from Tokyo of about 40 who flies in twice a year to vacation and dance with me. They don't dance my style in Japan very much, not at her level. I have been here two years now, and have ladies showing up and saying, "I am from Chicago, and I was told to look you up if I wanted to dance." This is a great "Ego Trip" for me, and the dancing keeps me going.

Your father and I were from a lucky generation. We were depression babies, (born 1934) whose families had to work like hell to bring us up. We were too young to fight in Korea, and too old for Vietnam. Our productive years were 1955 to 2000, and we really never saw bad economic times. My children are in the 38 to 42 range, which probably fits you, and they have had a good time to live their lives.

I am glad your father survived that episode, it must have been very scary for you. Wish him the best from me!

He is much better now, btw. But it was a scary time.

Gosh, you had me on the edge of my seat. I thought you were going to say you were afraid he would turn out like LB...

(seriously, my best wishes to your dad and your family)
