I am mulling over Bush's achievements for the State of the Union address.

1) Did not prevent 9/11.

2) Passed an agricultural welfare bill to subsidize wealthy producers--at taxpayers' expense.

3) Presided over a declining economy.

4) (Releated) Presided over an immense loss of jobs.

5) (Related) Presided over loss of budget surplus.

6) (Related) Presided over rising unemployment.

7)(Related) Presided over budget deficits that will be passed on to future generations.

8) Presided over the weakening of the dollar.

9) Intensely alienated most of Europe, despite having them on our side after 9/11.

10) Presided over the worst corporate scandals in memory. Furthermore, the necessary corporate reform, being replaced in the headlines by Iraq, seem dead.

11) Failed to capture/kill Bin Laden or Mullah Omar.

I am not even commenting on his ridiculous tax reform policies, or his deflecting attention from the above issues by his promoting war with Iraq.
