I don't agree with the idea of the US taking Iraqi oil, period, and I wish the people who are crowing about the possibility would just shut up, because it's ugly. #reply-18437875 .

Ugly is as ugly does, I guess. The French are one thing, but I don't think Germany has ever been known as a big operator on the international oil scene. Of course, we can always leave it to Perle to explain again to the Germans what, exactly, "democracy" is all about. If you choose to elect somebody who won't get with the W program, it doesn't count, or something like that.

If the war marketeers want to go back to James Baker's "It's about oil" again, that's their prerogative. That doesn't seem to be what we're supposed to be expecting tonight, though.
