Short sellers always get blamed when stocks don't go up fast enough for bulls.

I doubt that hedge funds have enough money to short enough stock to stop an entire sector.

My best guess, is that nervous gold bugs are taking 100%+ profits when their shares near 52-week highs.

After 20 years of abuse as gold investors, I can't blame them. -g-
