MOAT.04(COMTDomestic natural gas price increased 51% in 2002 B: Domestic natural gas price increased 51% in 2002 Mexico, Jan 28, 2003 (El Economista/SABI via COMTEX) -- The price of natural gas for domestic use increased by 51% between January 2002 and January 2003, while the price for industrial users increased by 97%, which has had an effect on Mexico's competitiveness. Hector Olea, president of Tractebel, says that the increases are a result of increases in international prices, although he expects that this trend will reverse in the next few months, as summer approaches, and prices follow their annual cycle.
