Ellsburgs views are not to be taken lightly imo. I agree with much of what he says sans his conclusion re: policy. mike

RE Danial Ellsburg
One answer for why our Military is tight-lipped or somewhat uncooperative with the Press when discussing Iraq.
Loose lips-sink ships
Why did our Navy win the battle Midway and turn the tide of the War ?
Because we had forehand knowledge of their Navy attack plan by breaking their codes.
If the Press had known that, we could have seen headlines the week previous screaming
US BREAKS JAPANESE SECRET CODE - and a different outcome of the battle
Are we at War now? Well, kind of, against Terrorists
Not all Press members have the same awareness of responsibility as Mr Ellsburg
It is just insatiable curiousity that causes the public and press keep asking the exact date for our ( potential) attack on Iraq which if printed can greatly increase the hazards to our troops. Even if we knew the exact date, what would we do?- crawl into a bomb shelter.?
Its our troops that would suffer the excess casualties not us
I hope the H--- the Press does not get even close to guessing the exact date, and when they do ask for it I would plead with the Generals to keep up the obfuscation !!! Heck, go ahead and lie if doing so will save lives.
