It all sounds so wonderfully academic from several thousand miles away. From here, we look at the looting of the West Coast by a phony "energy crisis(TM)", a phony stock market bubble created by a greedy class of oligarchs and a wink and nod attitude from the Federal government toward this corruption and we wonder why it is that the states and cities are made to suffer for the sins of our so-called "leaders". I assure you, you don't understand the nature of the budget cuts that states are being expected to endure. This isn't a little judicious belt tightening. This is a wholesale misallocation of the nation's resources, with vast amounts of money being squandered on the DOD death machine and handouts to the rich, while the core social institutions of the country are starved for revenues. Your understanding of the situation is too clever by half. -Ray
