That's because you look at this world through far rosier lenses than most of the rest of us... :0)

Really? That must be because I am such a sweet girl :)

Definitely spoken with tongue planted firmly in cheek... (or else I'm due for some ESL courses too.. :0)

I know... Hence the smiley face at the end of my statement "Only I get clobbered when I say this :)".

And there's not a chance in h*ll that "peace" will break out in Palestine until the militant leaders and their armed networks of terrorists are eliminaated or neutralized and moderate politicos come to forefront in the PA.

Obviously true. This statement would be equally correct if you substitute "Israel" for "Palestine" and "Sharon's administration" for "PA".

the structure of systemic hatred has to be unwound in the middle east.

Definitely. That is why they need an unbiased (nope, not the US, obviously) third party to broker a peace deal. The two sides have proven beyond doubt that they are incapable of achieving peace between themselves.

To remove those regimes who seek to use the Israeli Palestinian issue as a means for perpetuating turmoil in the region

Err... Not sure how you got from the sentence above to this one. OK, the structure of systemic hatred has to be unwound. How is invasion of nations who have already suffered death, humiliation and have practically no hope for the future, and forcibly removing their leaders (elected, in Arafat's case) going to remove hatred?

Besides, saying "They use Isr/Pal conflict for their own agenda, so let's invade the countries" is not only against every single agreement and understanding in the international arena regarding sovereignty and non-aggression, but it is also extremely flimsy as a support for invading a country.

I mean, Bush used Iraq to rally the country behind him in the latest elections. So what? Governments do use international issues to strengthen their position internally and abroad. Since when is this grounds to invade a country?
