Thanks Jay, Nice rundown on the situation at hand.
I have followed the Long Wave Cycle for a number of years and I have been trading gold stock for the last 2+ years. So at this point my costs of what I'm holding are low and as tempting as it is to trade some of the cycles over the last couple of months, I'm in a hold pattern for now. It appears to me that we are in for bad markets for a couple of years yet. Looking forward to selling my gold holding when there are line ups to buy, then back to equities some time after that. That is the big plan, always room for tweaking the knobs.

Cheers,

Jay, only 4 of your laundry list have happened. It's now 2 years [less a month]. I'm getting bored sitting here on top of the mountain, with you now scuttling around, snaffling my QCOM, while calling for the end of the world.

It's starting to look as though I have been conned by the inscrutable trader from the east [or west, and north, in my case].

When the heck is Armageddon and the end of the world going to happen? The rapture, second coming and Promised Land are looking like mythological beasts.

However, I am patient. A cat catches a mouse by waiting, sometimes quite a long time.

Jay's future headlines -
"Corporate Bond Spreads at Historic Peak”

This already happend, and the spreads have been closing for A rated and above. Turning point was about October 21, 2002.

The spreads have not been getting much closer since about mid-December. Default rates on BBB and junk and not yet dropped, but should start dropping in a few months.

Most companies have been cleaning up their balance sheets.

I would still not buy the junk bond funds yet, as the default may continue. Higher grade corporate bond funds may be a good deal in a few months for people who have accounts tied to US Dollars. If you are not tied to USD, it may not be the best choice unless the dollar has sharply dropped in value.

Most investment grade U.S. corporations are exporters, and the weaker dollar greatly helps their margins and cash flows.

Jay, this headline of yours
>>Cellular Phone Radiation Is ...<<

I read a research done by a British scientist, his recommendation was that do NOT use cell phone in car or bus, on airplane, or any other confined environment. The reason? because the microwave is trapped by medal, and even if car or bus has windows, the microwave still does not escape themselves. As a result, when a cellphone or other wireless equipment is used in those confined environment, the transmitting microwave produced around it is dozens of times higher than the safety level. And that very likely induces cancer. So use wireless in an open environment should be fine.
