OTactual casualties of a continent- hopping disease called Aids Oh?? I thought they died primarily of diseases brought on by their severely depressed immune systems?? Diseases such as pneumonia, karposi's sarcoma, Thrush.. etc.. AIDS is a "syndrome".. a name for a combination of diseases which have no directly observable cause. HIV is a virus.. There are literally no cases where it can be proven that AIDS is caused by the HIV virus, only theory (or maybe only hypothesis).. The fact is that a viral infection normally has a clear cause/effect (virus infects cell, replicates massively, and eventually bursts the cell wall to release those viruses to infect other cells).. Causalities such as the Flu virus resulting in pneumonia eventually setting in and taking a patient's life. HIV has yet to definitively show such causality. In fact, many HIV positive individuals have shown no signs of any diseases related to the AIDS syndrome. (Magic Johnson?) Many maintain athletic lives and stay in good shape, all of which limit diminishment of their immune system. Many factors can cause the drastic decline of a person's immune system... malnutrition, drug use, other diseases such as Hepatitis... etc. All of these causes are generally not segregated as direct causes of AIDS related fatalities. But since the HIV virus may be present, it receives the "blame" for causing the illness. Also, the use of such DNA inhibiting drugs as AZT can ALSO cause severe harm to the human immune system since they interupt the replication of not only the HIV virus, but also every other type of cell in the body. I suggest you look through the following set of links, especially the CV of Dr. Peter Duesberg, who has studied AIDS and HIV since the early '80s and who believes that AIDS is the result of other influences, and NOT the HIV virus: virusmyth.net virusmyth.net And his primary thesis on the true cause of AIDS: virusmyth.net virusmyth.net The bottom line is that HIV is too benign to cause the kind of immuno supressant symptoms seen in AIDS. Even in terminally ill AIDS patients, the number of HIV cells is relatively few, thus conflicting with the belief that HIV viruses are destroying white blood cells enmasse, resulting in immune system collapse.
