Four Companies to Organize BREW Operator Group

Tokyo (JCNN) - KDDI, Korean cellular operator, KTF, Chinese telecom operator, China United Telecommunications, and Qualcomm of California will co-establish an organization to promote the use of services and products based on BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless), a CDMA cellphone application platform developed by Qualcomm.

The BREW Operator Working Group will introduce applications and content providers, and standardize BREW specifications among the carriers to reduce terminal and application developement costs.
