It's not that the US has to submit to a higher government but subscribe to universal principles.

Resolving problems on a case by case basis bilaterally will always favor the only superpower in the world. It's like being on the winning side every time. Of course, this state of affairs is very attractive.

I wonder if you feel the same if and when a new greater superpower emerges in this world. Would the US prefer a bilateral resolution of disagreements with this hypothetical superpower?

Is it a coincidence that all the Europeans are in favor of a World Court?
