Jim, Dr. Richebacher is excellent. I've been a subscriber since 1997. He was/is way ahead of the crowd on many issues. i first heard of the impact of ESOPs , hedonics, lower GDP deflator- statistical adjustments that add to GDP and productivity growth in his letters. He forecast the bursting of the Asian Tiger bubble. He was quite vocal about the disparity between NIPA earnings and reported earnings -and noted that NIPA profits peaked in 3Q97 even as Wall St was ecstatic about the profit miracle. Even Greenspan admits that NIPA numbers are less susceptible to manipulation. He was much too early on the call for a bear mkt in the US and underestimated the staying power of the US $ but I read Dr. R for his insights not his timing. Mike
