thus the driver file being named ns3400.dll

another poster just replied on another forum that he thinks the driver install disk should have it; "if not, UMax should have it... failing that (but I'd bitch at UMax if neither of the above work because it means they've failed to provide you with drivers)"

the more this comes to light, the more stunned i am that the tech person didn't know the ns3400.dll was a hardware specific driver (as in a scanner driver, as in, duh, a umax scanner!), and that it could be found on the installation disk.

looking forward to hearing that you got it right...
