probably half-true -- they have a plan, but they won't have to spell it out before they go in. They won't have to be accountable for it, but I am sure they have a plan for installing "our" type of govmnt there. question is what will they do for plan B? Plan A is not apt to work, IMO, whatever it is ...

It's going to be tough -- stay too long and everyone will say, "Imperialist dogs."

Don't get it right, leave quickly and everything goes to carp in a year or two and then folks will pt to the article like you just posted -- Bush had no plans and we get something potentially worse than a country with weapons of mass destruction -- we get real instability in an economically vital region. Sadam is probably in power right now thanks to US agitation -- without it, one of his friends surely would have stabbed him in the back by now.

Media doesn't cover the potential downside of winning this thing quickly ...

WMD are everywhere -- sure seems like one big excuse or rationalization to me. How hard are we working to prevent the stuff that Russia has from getting into the wrong hands. Or has anyone really examined the basic thesis as to whether or not it makes sense: Can we be effective in preventing the proliferation of WMD?? I think there is reason to believe that we can be somewhat effective at curbing the "official spread" of nuclear weapons, but the other stuff?? This is a fundamental question that is not being examined by the press ...
