...I know of SEVERAL shareholders outside of Cisco that made A LOT of money too.

A red herring imho,......over the bubble years the market price has had very little to do with management's ability to deliver and build equity in the company on shareholder's invested capital, but over the long run, I think the market price will indeed be correlated to companies' abilities to deliver real shareholder value.

Yes, I agree. I actually made a pretty nice bundle as well. I think the melodramatics around stock options is starting to blind people to the tremendous value creation during the 90's by not only Cisco, but many other companies as well.
