GST, You may be right, we may be making the greatest mistake in the last 200 years. OTOH, if things work out well, in a few years we might be looking at a democratic Iraq, the first real free Arab democracy. Imagine what an Arab Germany would do to the Middle East. As for sowing the seeds of future terrorism, one could argue that these seeds have already been sown, sprouted, harvested, etc. I still don't know why we're going after Iraq though. Saddam is a dirtbag no doubt, but are we going after all the dirtbags on the planet? Meanwhile where's Osama and how come no-one talks about him anymore?
