I'm sure they were posted repeatedly here.

Fortunately, they are no longer relevant.

Not only is the US no longer alone (not that we were before) but the resolve is there with or without the UN (that was a theme of the speech which the polls were asking about,eh?).

""Gallup says 67% US Americans for action to remove Saddam.""

Funny. I didn't hear anything knew, as the Powell to UN spiel was in the cards. ""At a time of our own choosing"", to quote A. Stevenson when he had to convince his pairs and boss back in the WH, then.

So, a large portion on US citizens just needed to be talked to. Convincingly. Again.

In a dramatic setup, they put a great seasoned actor, some fine speech writers, chose an historic moment, and it was a done deal.

Of course some manipulation had to come with it: it was Time for Bush to say what really wanted!
The shootout.
Just like in the movies, back in Texas, or back then.

The good guy against the bad guy.

Where is the problem ?

Remember, even though Samuel Colt made us all equal, the good guy always win!

And the Honorable Gentlemen from Texas looks much more deterring than John Wayne, when it comes to the finest hour bit.

And the people of Between the Two Rivers know that for sure. They aren't that stupid. They even invented writing...

The key question before was not this but how many favored going alone. Do you have any numbers about that?

John, there is no chance of the US going alone. The question is, with or without UNSC approval? Either way, the US will have allies - Britain, Australia, Turkey, Kuwait, Italy, Spain, etc.
