WiFi with a 2.4 mbps downlink

Most people who use WiFi to share an internet connection do so with either cable or DSL, and are lucky to get upload speeds ot 150 kbps and download speeds of 1 mbps when connected alone. Even for peer-to-peer filesharing over the WLAN, the 11 mbps is never really obtained (more like 5 mbps). Point being, no one using WiFi is actually used to 11 mbps and thus would not complain about a measly 500-1000 kbps :).

The nice thing about distributing the EV-DO connection with WiFi is the re-use of cheap WIFi cards. Of course, if DO PC cards/modems ever approached $40 apiece, we'd see some mass adoption, but what about those falling ASPs. Yikes!
