>>>Many are dead because of it.<<<

I strongly, and sadly, suspect that if Bush the younger moves into Baghdad that you haven't seen nothin' yet!

Bush Senior really set a bad precedent when his awful decision caused many thousands of deaths in Iraq. If he hadn't of been so stupid, we would have had a much stronger coalition of allies among the Kurds in the North, and the Muslims in the South.

It seems sometimes patience is not a virtue , especially when it comes to pathology and disease.
It will soon be resolved this time...

At the conclusion of the last Gulf conflict , about all one could describe of the then president's stand and the senior
staff would be somewhat disjointed , remote and spacey...it was badly and incompletely finished.
All senior Bush wanted it seemed was to pull out as quickly as possible , leaving many at the mercy of Saddam's ruthlessness in the aftermath. And then 10+ more years of suffering for the Iraqi peoples.

I don't think Gen Schwarzkopf had been given any directions at all to guide him in concluding that exercise then , they left him hanging out in space and he looked it at the meeting table .

Think they might just have a longer term "plan " this time ....or one would hope. Or Dubya will be another one term president like his father.
