Bush recommended "socialist" medicine last night.
Socialist except controlled by HMO beaurocrats and their lobbyists not government ones. What's the difference except the HMO's make a profit off you and the gov doesn't? "Socialism" is a widely mis-used term (mainly by the right-wing as a scare tactic). In fact all of our main allies are "socialist" countries, including the UK and Canada, and it's really just an argument of corporate power vs. government power. After the Enron Wall Street scandals I am surprised the right-wing still believes corporate interests/lobbyists are the ones we can most trust. Deregulation is their way of minimizing socialism. The last two big deregulations resulted in the S+L debacle and the 2000-2001 phony energy crisis. Consumers of all ilks just get ripped off.
