Almost the one measure of a man was how eloquent he was , and how embellished the stories of his tribe he could make almost into spoken "songs" on the spot ....comes quite natural to them and almost second nature. oh what gift it was the gift of language and speech , such an ability it gave us to color and shape emotions , perceptions and mindset. Coherece , cower, manipulate and control , while over~ populating the landscape with our words and stories and fables...and a lot of other prejudice and fancies. Even some small part does come out of self-examination and examination of what is right before us , once in a blue moon .... but not much. (And they think we could even begin to believe even the slightest words coming out of a "Saddam's" mouth. )<G> If one were to replace "God" , the simple and most painless substitute would be to simply go back to the original universal "One God Above " & the highest metaphor which is that of the SUN. And all the girls loved Apollo anyways @ the Temple . (yet Moses would have looked silly saying he had just spoken to the Sun...but he was another fable himself<g>) He/She/It sheds light , shines equally over all , dies in the night and resurrected by day, energizes the planet , is the symbol of all radiance and good health and healing ...was worshipped by every tribe of men from the beginning , and still shines daily above. ...One then only has to associate The Sun with the light of reason with all the above , and voila! ! One has a tangible symbol of the diety with which no-one can possibly argue ..except those fellows that have a vested interest in maintaining their status as interpreters of the "Word" (and broken pottery pieces.) And all the young girls loved Apollo...and wanted to ride in his chariot (of fire!) ;-)
