Frank, outstanding post and analysis!

Couple of thoughts...

I believe one of the reasons Bush went down the WMD path was because he calculated it would help gain international support for the effort. Tying action toward the fact that Saddam has ignored numerous UN security measures was a necessary first step. I do agree with your point though. This is WWIV. The cold war was WWIII, societies which believe in freedom are now in a battle against Islamic fascism.
