Deja Vu meets Catch 22

Anti war folks yap containment thru inspection and then war if necessary and approved by the UN. However they fail to understand that inspections themselves are a result of US threat of war with almost forced UN acquiesence in the Fall of last year. IF Bush had not threatended war, there would be no inspection regime now and saddam would be that much closer to nukes and schemes to deliver wmds to offset amerian power in the region as well as to control his neighbors. So the anti war argument has no legs. It is circular reasoning by folks with their heads buried firmly in the sand. Can anyone refute the logic above? Please take your best shot. I really do welcome an alternative that can defang saddam without war. Mike
PS Now that the inspections are in place--forget the reason why--antiwar folks are talking of inspections for a year while the US forces that make inspections possible degrade in their ability to fight. Bad weather and bad morale coming soon if we dont act now.
