Musharraf thinks Bin Laden is dead

The AP is reporting the Pakistani Pres Musharraf told an Italian magazine that his intelligence services believe Bin Laden is dead, but that they have no proof of that. Musharraf has in the past voiced similar views about Bin Laden's fate, but his explanations seem potentially motivated by a desire to ease pressure on Pakistan (where many believe Bin Laden to be) and he has no convincing explanation for the recent Bin Laden audiotape, claiming only that it might have been pre-recorded.

<< We survived a generation of global nuclear terror by repudiating first strike use of nuclear weapons -- preemption. >>

We (both the east and the west) survived through MAD.

The cuban missile blockade was not exactly laizze-faire isolationism. It was strength and vigilance put into action. Thank God it worked.
