There is a fundamental problem with both the majors and the juniors IMO. The majors are very slow developing or acquiring new deposits or reserves, and the juniors are slow at exploring, or in the cases where they have reserves, selling them or properly funding their development. Case in point is YMC.u. Why would they being doing a 90 cent private placement at 370 POG? Buy and large I see management ability in this sector as about a D grade, really quite poor. They're always stuck in limbo, and nobody knows how the create shareholder value (*).

(*) example of how this is done, see Elan. There has been a sea change there, and it's starting to show in the share price.

My patience there is being rewarded, but why should I have any more patience with this PM management crowd? Maybe time for me to move on, and I don't think losing investors like me bodes well for these stocks.

Dave,
I went from 45% to 25% PM weighting. When I go to 5% the stocks will rock LOL.... sigh...

EDIT real curious as the dollar has erased all the damage done bt the STOU speech and more...

CD,
Never sure what is going on. One of my picks CDU a potentially good silver stock (BTW Do you follow that one?)
not rallying here. Others still soft but this is a very tricky market. Not like the late seventies when things were advancing strongly day after day in silver.

<<It's almost like they can't hold gold down any more so they'll hold the gold mining stocks down.>>
