Can I install TurboTax without activating it?
When you install your TurboTax CD-ROM for the first time, you must activate it. After activation, you can perform the following tasks from the computer that TurboTax was activated on:

Print your return from within the program
File your return electronically
Save your return as an Adobe PDF file so that you can print it from another computer.
For each subsequent installation (for example, if you give your CD-ROM to a friend or change hard disks), TurboTax will go through the activation process; however, whether or not you need to purchase another product license depends upon the situation. For additional information, please see the article Do I need to purchase a new product license if I reinstall TurboTax?

Note: TurboTax 2002 products that currently require product activation will be activated free of charge starting October 16, 2003, allowing anyone to install TurboTax on any computer without needing to purchase a product license.

Do I need to purchase a new product license if I reinstall TurboTax?
Whether or not you need to activate TurboTax again (that is, purchase a new product license) depends upon your particular situation:

If you reinstall the same version of TurboTax on the same computer that it was previously activated on, you do not need to purchase a new product license.

If you install TurboTax on another computer before October 16, 2003, you need to purchase a new product license only if you want to print from within the program, electronically file, or save your tax return as a .pdf file from that computer.

Example: You activate TurboTax on your home computer and attempt to electronically file your tax return, but problems with your Internet connection prevent you from filing successfully. The next day, you install TurboTax at work. In order to electronically file your tax return from your work computer, you must purchase a new product license by activating TurboTax on your work computer.

I have a better solution - Buy TaxCut. It is better and has no restrictions like the ones you have with TurboTax.

Yeah, buy Tax Cut if you haven't already committed. But to answer your question, all but the exclusions listed by others. So if you install on a 2nd computer, just save the file to a floppy or CD-RW and transport it to the computer which has printing enabled and print it from there.

If you disk goes kaput, or you need to change computers, then apparently you'll have to call the company & beg, or you are SOL. Good reason to buy Tax Cut in my view.

You also won't be able to use the forms method of entering data on a second computer. According to the licensing agreement that feature is also disabled, leaving only the Easy Step method which I found too cumbersome.
