True, but what is your point? At present, there is no war.* There is only preparation for war.

The military is practicing a version of "just-in-time" inventory. No more "hurry up and wait."

MSC can activate Sealift vessels in days. We resolved that last year. No reason to rehash it, as far as I can see.

*Although I have a very hard time understanding how we've got military personnel in Northern Iraq, setting up bases and preparing airfields, but that's not war. Saddam must be an awfully nice chap not to mind. Can't think of any other world leader who wouldn't consider invading his country an act of war.

Unless, of course, the military has already prepositioned enough equipment and supplies in the region to meet demand ahead of time. The Air Force, for one, I know from personal contacts has been positioning more than just "getting the tanks rolling" supplies throughout the Gulf for months. You don't seem to have considered that you may be fighting the "last war" Carl...
