Re Cote d'Ivoire I do not know much about the issue, but I do know that France is NOT invading Cote d'Ivoire, aiming regime change, and seizing its natural resources. Re Environmentalist "ships" I believe you are referring to a singular, which blew up in the face of the French government of the time in a Watergate style scandal. If you want to take a trip down memory lane, I am sure there are many countries that present a target-rich environment for such mistakes, and the US is certainly not an exception.
