Defined benefit pensions probably are becoming a thing of the past but those companies which already have such plans should not try to escape from responsibility to which they have already committed. The fortunate employees are the government employees who still have good defined benefit plans.

At some point people have to start taking some responsibility for their own lives and retirement.

Take responsibility like paying into social security and retirement plans and being ripped off of those savings? Meanwhile execs and monopolies make out like bandits under current policy. Sounds like class warfare to me.
