AFFX Closed up 19.40% at 26.03 well over its January 14 H of 25.39 and in spite of some down ticks in the last few minutes<g> it has shown no intention of closing its early up-gap.

Today's volume of 5,733,599 was higher than the July 3 volume of 4,485,900 and the May 15 volume of 5,376,200(both those days were "down days" and on May 15 there was a significant minus money flow of 1,151,600 The H that day was 26.35and today's was 26.39 <g> )

The stock announced today its deal with Roche, which looks like it should really open up the penetration of its technology into the mainstream diagnostic markets.

Under the terms of the non-exclusive accord,Roche will pay AFFX a
$70 M upfront fee and use its patented GeneChip technology for up to 18 years.
AFFX should also get royalties on sales of diagnostics kits and milestone payments for "technical and commercial achievements".<g>

BPUR Is up 18.53% on volume of more than 157K (ahead of its daily volume), after it announced its plans to resume shipping Oxyglobin to U.S. veterinary hospitals and clinics by mid February.

It said that after discussions with the FDA it has resolved its previously reported manufacturing documentation issue.

It is up for its second day on a roll, but as I mentioned yesterday, it is still facing some resistance ahead.<g>
