The nature of the tubes is such that it is very likely that they where bought in for the nuclear weapons program. Also even in their current use they may be a violation.

Today, the administration released some information on this and I thought made a reasonable case that the tubes WERE for processing Uranium. As you have pointed out, Iraq's mere POSSESSION of these tubes, regardless of reason, is a violation.

The evidence seemed strong to me, however. The procurement process had involved high-level Iraqi officials, was conducted in secrecy, and the specifications were far beyond that which would be required for the short-range missle use which has been suggested.

I think the Bush Administration has come through with the proof it needs to back up its allegation concerning the "aluminum tubes".
