We're on the same page. The point I was trying to make is that there are off-the-shelf wireless broadband solutions to the last mile problem that are being implemented now. My opinion is that the timetable for this buildout in the US is 5 to 7 years, not 15 or 20.

I have no particular bias against 802.11 other than it is really only an urban solution, useful in central London and Wellington and similar, but not for most of the US.
