Sorta reminds me of the local town where they wanna put in a a nuke plant or a hotel or something. The lead guys come in and throw money and favors around, buying off the town selectmen, planning board, zoning appeals board and whatnot. Thus, the table gets set and approval comes quick.

Now all of the above is supposed to be illegal, but even so sometimes it still happens.

What's different about the US buying allies for a dangerous war that most people in the world don't want?
