Prior to Dr. J's brief retirement, didn't he own a company called Link-a-Bit or something like that, which utilized TDMA/GSM technology?

RE QCOM and Comquest,

I stand corrected and rephrase. QCOM did indeed kick the tires of Comquest. Subsequently, many of Comquests engineers took positions at QCOM. Comquest's director of software now holds an equivalent position at QCOM, overseeing the GSM effort. QCOM did acquire Comquests GSM protocol stack.
