Correction: You had the REAGAN peace and prosperity when Clinton was president. That is, of course, until HE screwed it up. It wasn't easy to screw up-even for the worst president in history-but he managed. Now you lefties are forced to shut up and watch Bush fix it all. It won't be easy, even for this president, who has already established himself as Reagan's peer...

TP,

re:We had Peace and Prosperity when Clinton was President.

Regime change was Clinton's idea - you know that don't you. It takes a Republican to do what Clinton only talked about.

We know. Clinton himself singlehandedly created all that prosperity. Well, not singlehandedly, actually. Al Gore DID invent the internet for him. I always felt that was an unfair advantage. Veeps are supposed to be stupid.

Uh, you DO know, don't you, that that technological revolution that broke loose in the '90s had been building for decades? It didn't just pop up out of nowhere because Slick boinked Monica.

Let's see. The fact is that the economy had already turned around by the time Clinton won the 1992 election. It just hadn't turned around ENOUGH yet to get Bush re-elected. So Maybe that was Poppy Bush's Boom. If you want to claim a President is responsible for the state of the national economy. I always thought it was a lot more complicated myself.

BUT since you insist: One HELL OF A BUBBLE was built during the '90s. Now, really, that was hardly all Slick's fault. He had help from Alan and lots of greedy bastages. But we're going to ignore that. If he gets credit for the boom, then he gets blame for the bubble.

And it DID burst on his watch. March 2000, remember? GWB didn't even have the nomination yet.

So if Slick gets credit for the boom and Poppy Bush gets none, then he also gets the blame for what could prove to be the largest economic disaster of the 20th century. (March 2000 was in the 20th century. You know that, right?)

Now every day sets a milestone as the worst in XX+1 years ever!
Yeah, Slick really did screw up, didn't he? When a bubble THAT big bursts, it's BAD.

Oh, about peace. You know what I noticed? Slick despised the military. Except when he needed a distraction from his sexual pecadilloes. Then he sent them someplace to shoot somebody. He even sent them to the Balkans to clean up a mess in the European's backyard when those supercilious clowns wouldn't do it themselves.
