When was the last time the US occupied a country and took the "spoils of war"?

The closest parallel is the war of 1898 (Spanish/American) where the U.S. seized such assets as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Phillipines. Of course the Phillipines just turned out to be 50 years of expensive headaches and terrorist activity before the U.S. bugged out, but we still have the blessings of RonRico rum without import duties.
