I think we could use the he is evil approach to Venezuela and Chavez. He is, but he was elected democratically and the US has learned from Chile not to overthrow democratic governments. It isn't the oil! Find another reason to blame us, rather than blaming Saddam.

Gergen has it right, European public is against the US policy for three reasons:

1. Because they are afraid of increased terrorism as a result of the US war, directed against them.

2. Because this would put additional pressure on the Palestinians and they support that group (My comments here: in part because of #1 above and in part because they hate Jews anyway!)

3. Because they perfer the status quo and resist events that cause real change!

He is spot on, from my perspective. Why do you suppose that Europeans are so Anti-problem solving!
