Interestingly (or not), I think the war is the only way left for Bush to have any kind of real effect on the economy. Oil fields go into a Trust, U.S. gets a nose into oil-produciing nations, Europe becomes (especially after Germany and France's recent stance) even more marginalized and oil prices plummet. Major balance of power shift.

I find it odd that there is little talk about who will/would be succeeding Hussein. Considering, imo, it's the sole reason we didn't go in to Baghdad during the last "war" one would think we be bombarded with the possible slate of successors.

I expect during the last days of this campaign there will be an Iraqi "savior" presented to us.

Irregardless, -g-, it's all peripheral.
