-- "the near total destruction of the Earth and every one on it, is severe, to say the least." -- I'm not real good at expressing myself and I don't know how to say this without sounding like I think I'm "better" than others, but of course I know I'm NOT. Anyway (knowing there are differences in interpretation) the Bible tells me there is ONE God. He loves us ALL and wants us to believe His love for us. The other side of the coin, is Satan. Also very real, and very alive and controlling things of the world today -- EXCEPT for those who believe in the Lord. Oh, he still causes me to act in ways I should not -- but even then the Lord loves me. The "near total destruction of the earth" will not affect those that love the Lord because by then, we'll be with Him. He hopes those still here will see the truth He has given in the Bible and come to a caring belief in Him, and they are still given the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. Only "cost" is faith in what He has said. I don't mean that to sound like a Sunday school lesson -- only telling you -- my beliefs. -- "what is supposed to happen to the regular animals" -- I agree with you -- "Tis a puzzlement !!" And tho I'm not a member of PETA, I do in fact have a concern for them. It's just that the consequences are so great for each of us (humans) that I'll trust Him to take care of the details.
