re: is it tough being a techie? Yes, actually, it is. Those of us who are sticklers for quality are attuned to all those annoying little details that people complain about. 98% of people won't complain about a little thing that bugs them about a site. The few who do complain are either unbelievably anal, or have valid points. A side effect of being detail oriented is that everything in life gets analyzed, usually without even thinking about it. Put all those "accidental" analyses into a big bucket and you begin to see a picture take shape. With very little additional effort most companies could be above average quality. That says something pretty disturbing about the status quo of the operative business environment. TED
