Mao,

I refer you to the techniques of Adolf Hitler as propounded in Mein Kampf. To wit, subtlety is ineffective in persuading the great mindless mass of humanity. You posted the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. On the face of it, it wasn't an unreasonable stringing together of nouns and verbs. Some of the more doltish and gullible lurkers here might think that it was a reasonable document. It is my contention that it is best to leave no doubt in the readers mind.

THE GULF OF TONKIN RESOLUTION WAS A FRAUD.

There, I believe well over half of our readers can understand that. Subtlety is swell for salons and students of sophistry. But I want to engage in a more visceral and emotional appeal. Sort of like this:

AMERICA! YOU ARE BEING BETRAYED BY GEORGE BUSH.

See? Nice quiet, calm, deliberative, dispassionate discourse. It's the best way to win, emulating our enemies, n'est pas?
